Imagine a day when a young man stands up in front of his sophmore/junior class and apologizes for being a bully. Apologizes for hurting feelings. Imagine that day. At Davison High School…today was that day.
The Bullycide Project had 3 very successful daytime performances and 1 evening performance at Davison High School. We are back to perform for Davison Jr. High students Feb. 6! We are sure that it will be met with the same success due to a proactive administration, staff, and students!

The Bullycide Project performed for Edsel Ford High School today! What an experience! The picture below is of cast members with students in the anti-bullying club at Edsel Ford.

Also, several e-mails were written from students to The Bullycide Project cast and crew after seeing the performance:
“You came to my school, Edsel Ford High School,(Dearborn, MI) on January 11th, 2012. And I can’t even begin to explain how your performance touched my heart. I have a passion for anti-bullying, and when I watched this, I couldn’t even speak. I cried. I will admit it, I bawled. And I am not very out there with my emotions either, especially at school. But when I sat there with 500+ other kids around me, I just let it all out. I have dealt with bullying, and I’ve also thought about suicide. But I knew that I couldn’t leave my family and friends. They mean too much to me. That was back in middle school. Now being a junior in high school, and not the most popular either, I still do sometimes get bullied, but I’ve learned how to deal with it. That’s why I’ve joined the “Anti-Bullying Committee” at my school, so I can help others learn how to approach bullying. After the show, I got to talk to your actors and actresses. And I have to say… Wow! I have never met a nicer group of people in my life! I hope the performance that you guys put on at my school actually got to at least some of the students. Because I know for a fact that it affected me. Thank you so much for coming to my school.”
“Well after seeing your group performing at Edsel Ford High School I was just amazed at your performances. The Bullycide Project made me want to do the things you do. Helping kid’s with bullying and gettting them through life so that they realize that life get’s better and that you shouldn’t give your life up just because of some stupid bullies”

SUCCESS in Houston! The Bullycide Project cast shared stories of Bullycide to 300 students and adults. “We can no longer be indifferent.” Words said by a young man from the back of the theatre. I think they heard us. =D

“I just saw and spoke with your ensemble this morning and I would like to join the cause. In middle school I had a really hard time with bullying and with ideas and attempts at suicide and since than I have wanted to do something like this. This is my dream job. I would love to audition and be part of the cause.”

Kudos to Howard Billings Regional School for all their efforts in bringing the subject of Bullying to their school by decorating the hallways with anti bullying posters, hosting an “Anti-bullying Variety Show” that was student produced and performed, printing newspapers with articles regarding bullying and homophobia, organizing a “purple shirt” day to create bullying awareness, and last but not least inviting THE BULLYCIDE PROJECT to their school and to their community of Chateauguay Quebec. Outstanding hospitality and amazing energy from the students, parents, administrators, and teachers. This community is doing what it takes to SEE IT HEAR IT STOP IT! We were in awe of their convictions and commitment.
